What, you may have recently asked yourself, do Robin Ware, JRB Ware, and Robert L. Peters all have in common? As it turns out, they are all one person: President Joseph R. Biden. You may also be asking yourself why Uncle Joe was using these pseudonyms for email accounts while he was the sitting Vice President. You may also, if you are the truly inquiring sort, be wondering why his son, Hunter Biden, the once and future Burisma executive, was emailing his father on these accounts in reference to political appointments and the nation’s overseas entanglements.
The practice of using phony email accounts, though officially discouraged, is not forbidden among federal employees, and the White House has already been at lengths to explain this behavior as commonplace--which is known elsewhere as the “Everybody Does It” defense. Many Americans will no doubt be satisfied with that explanation, particularly those who prefer the romantic version of Joe. You know, the Uncle Joe who vanquished Corn Pop in single combat, and more recently survived a house fire with his cat.
But there is such a thing as totality of circumstances, and in Joe’s case they just keep suggesting a pay to play scheme with his son. Hunter is not, and never was, an energy expert, but he did lie on on an ATF 4473 form, which asked him if he was a drug addict when he purchased a gun. That’s normally a felony, and that was after, you may remember, he was booted from the Navy for being a cokehead.
You may think there is enough smoke here to suggest a fire, and you would be right. But don’t hold your breath waiting for a competent, non-partisan investigation. You’ll only turn blue, and anyway the federal indictment woodchipper is already stuffed full of weird Republicans.
